Today we reviewed everything from this unit: Adjectives, Ser/Tener, and Comparisons using this PowerPoint presentation. We also completed our study guide to prepare for Friday's test.
Our test is coming up THIS FRIDAY! Make sure you know your Ch. 1B Vocab and Conjugations of both "Ser" and "Tener!" Today we practiced adjectives and verbs "ser" and "tener" playing the following games: velocidad_-_adjectives.ppt velocidad_-_ser_and_tener.ppt
Today we learned about our 2nd verb "Tener" - to have. Here is the powerpoint with the information we covered today: tener.ppt. After taking notes, we completed this practice together: práctica_con_tener.docx. We also worked on this practice sheet practice_with_verb_tener.jpg. Tomorrow students will look at this family photo and will come up with 5 unique sentences using both "Ser - to be" and "Tener - to have" to describe the family members. Ex) Ricardo es viejo y no tiene pelo. (Ricardo is old and doesn't have hair.)
Today we took Day 6 of the Non-negotiable quiz, and then we went over yesterday's sheets answers. The last part of the block we played a vocab review game (palomitas) to get ready for tomorrow's quiz! Make sure you know your adjectives (and how to spell them) and comparisons for tomorrow's quiz!
Remember: The adjective has to agree/match the noun. If the noun is feminine and singular, the adjective has to be feminine and singular too. If the noun is masculine and plural, the adjective has to be masculine and plural as well. For comparisons: More than = más + adj. + que Less than = menos + adj. + que as a+ adj. + as = tan + adj. + como Irregular comparisons: Older than = mayor que Younger than = menor que Better than = mejor que Worse than = peor que Today in class we reviewed pronouns and verb "ser". Then students took Day 5 of the Non-Negotiable Quiz. We also reviewed the comparisons sheet. The last part of the block we went to the computer lab. Today we started by taking the non-negotiable quiz Day 4. After the quiz, students took notes on how to form comparisons in Spanish. Here is the powerpoint that contains today's notes. After taking notes, students worked on this sheet to practice making comparisons between different people and objects. We will finish the sheet during class time tomorrow.
This week we will have a vocab quiz on Thursday that will cover your blue vocab sheet! Today we took our second non-negotiable quiz. We also went over the vocab blue sheet to understand the meaning of each word ch._1b_vocab_list_-_personality___physical_descriptors.docx. We started working on the diamond poem rough draft using the new vocab. It should look something like this:
Yesterday, Tuesday February 5th, students took their first unit test. Today in class we started by going over the answers to yesterday's unit test. We then went over the vocabulary, and students took notes about adjectives using this and this sheets. Next, students took Day 1 of the non-negotiable quiz! We will take this quiz every day until students earn a grade of 100%. Subject pronouns and the verb "Ser" are things that need to be memorized and understood thoroughly before moving on to more advanced Spanish.
