Today we reviewed Subject Pronouns and the verb "Ser" - to be. We used magnets on the board with both the pronouns and verb "ser" conjugated. Here's the powerpoint that explains this concept. Today in class we took notes on how to tell time using the "MENOS" format.
Ex) 8:55 can be expressed 2 ways 1) Eight fifty five (Son las ocho y cincuenta y cinco) 2) It's five 'til nine (Son las nueve menos cinco) Here is the powerpoint we took notes from today: la_hora_day_2.ppt. Students then completed this practice sheet using the "menos" method. Remember to study for tomorrow's quiz which will cover: #/gender of nouns and articles, time-telling, and the calendar. We started class by taking our first quiz over Numbers, Colors, and Greetings/Goodbyes. After the quiz, students picked up this vocab sheet and crossword puzzle to help them start learning the new vocabulary. Once all quizzes were in, students took notes on the Days of the Week, Months of the Year, and Seasons. Here is the powerpoint with the notes we took: las_estaciones_y_las_fechas.ppt. After notes, students worked on this practice sheet and worked on finishing the crossword puzzle. Below are the 2 sing-along videos we did in class for the days of the week and months of the year: Today, students worked in pairs on a dialogue utilizing greetings, the 4 Basic Questions, and goodbyes. Students then read their dialogues to Mrs. Dani for a speaking grade. Once students were done with their dialogues, they used the laptops to review the following PowerPoint presentation 4_basic_questions_colors_numbers_1-100.ppt with all the information covered so far (greetings, goodbyes, numbers, colors and the 4 basic questions) for tomorrow's quiz.

(Where are you from?), ¿Cuantos anos tienes? (How old are you?) and ¿Cómo estás? / ¿Cómo está Ud.? (How are you?).
